After experiencing one of the most severe storms in 50 years, Big Bear is opening up again and ready to welcome visitors. The only way to get here right now is Highway 18 from Lucerne Valley, so make sure to give yourself extra travel time if you’re headed this way. With the heavy snowfall, comes an influx of parking issues, so be sure to look for off-street parking if you plan on staying for a while.
Unfortunately, due to the storm conditions, many activities have been canceled. Lifted Snow Fest and Chase Sapphire Lounge at Bear Mountain were two of them, but don't be discouraged - there are still plenty of fun, inexpensive activities for the family!
One of the best is snowshoeing on our national forest trails. All you need is a pair of snowshoes and you’re ready to explore the enchanting winter landscape. If you don’t have your own, you can easily rent some from Goldsmith’s, or Potter's Mountain Sports.
