The Story of Bruin Trojan Realtors
Fifty years ago, Arnold and Betty Scott had a simple dream - to create their own real estate business. With their three children in tow, they left West Covina, California and headed to Sugarloaf, where they established Bruin Real Estate.
Janet, their eldest, grew up amid the hustle and bustle of the business and joined her parents as a realtor in 1974. It wasn't long before the family expanded the business to the Moonridge area of Big Bear Lake. After 12 years at the helm, Arnold stepped down and Janet assumed leadership.
In the meantime, Trojan Realty, another Big Bear firm, had emerged. Janet quickly recognized an opportunity; she negotiated a merger between both firms and Bruin Trojan Realtors was born. Even to this day, many still inquire if the name has any affiliation with UCLA or USC, but the answer remains no. It’s merely two independent entities that happened to merge.
Years later, Janet bought out her partner, becoming the sole proprietor of Bruin Trojan Realtors, Inc. She then affiliated with the ERA real estate franchise system and operated as ERA Bruin Trojan Realtors. Eventually, however, franchise systems began to impose too much restriction, so in 2015, Janet made the decision to break free.
Today, Janet is the proud Broker/Owner of Bruin Trojan Realtors, Inc., and thanks to Arnold and Betty’s hard work, dedication, and determination, their legacy lives on.
