Big Bear Travel News: Highway 18 – Arctic Circle Now Fully Open!
Big Bear Travel News: Per Cal Trans, Hwy 18 from Snow Valley to Big Bear dam (Arctic Circle) is open... access roads to Big Bear are open without restrictions!

Greetings, fellow Big Bear residents and visitors! We're thrilled to share some good Big Bear travel news with everyone today.

As of 4:00 AM this morning, Highway 18 between Big Bear and Snow Valley - including the notorious "Arctic Circle" stretch - is now open to two-way traffic with no restrictions! This is fantastic news for all of us who have been eagerly anticipating the restoration of normal travel in and out of the valley.

Additionally, this means that all roads leading into and out of Big Bear Valley are now open and operating with no restrictions. For those of you planning to visit or travel, here are the current routes:

- Route 38 from Redlands through Angelus Oaks

- Route 18 from Lucerne Valley up to our valley

- Route 18 from Running Springs

(Route 330 from San Bernardino to Running Springs is open with no restrictions as well)

There are no chain requirements in the valley or on access highways at this time, which will undoubtedly be a welcome relief for many of our residents.

This marks the first day that all roads in and out of Big Bear Valley are operating with no restrictions since the big storm hit, and we're delighted that we can all get back to our daily routines.

We hope that everyone will continue to stay safe while driving and maintain awareness of changing road conditions when traveling in and out of Big Bear. Our choice for the best spot to check road conditions is HERE.

Thanks for staying patient with us, everybody. We'll see you out there on the road!
